Intensive Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
